This week, Deputy Director of Policy at State Voices, Lata Nott joins Abby in the classroom to help with explaining the public’s rights as expressed in the First Amendment.

Lata outlines exceptions to the First Amendment, limits on freedom of religion, and proofs of defamation for public and private figures. Later, Abby and Lata discuss whether “hate speech” is a violation of, or protected by the First Amendment.
