Evening Edition: First Of Its Kind Asteroid Sample Heading Back To Earth
A spacecraft NASA launched in 2016 to study a near Earth asteroid has begun its journey home carrying a first of its kind sample. The ‘OSIRIS-REx’ spacecraft will travel for nearly three hundred million miles to safely bring a sample from an asteroid, in this case Bennu, to NASA and the world to study for decades to come. FOX’s Eben Brown speaks with Andrea Jones, Planetary Geologist with NASA, about the historic mission and what we may learn from it.
