Evening Edition: The Difficulties Of A Police Reform Compromise
President Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris are making a push to get the ‘George Floyd Justice in Policing Act’ passed through the Senate. The bill includes a body camera mandate, banning of choke holds, requires data collection of violent police encounters to establish a registry and makes it easier for lawsuits to be brought against officers, among other initiatives. Republicans in opposition to the bill say their own police reform bill filibustered last year wasn’t given a chance. FOX’s Trey Yingst speaks with FOX’s Blake Burman about what is in the bill and the difficult task of reaching a compromise on police reform.
