Sen. Ted Cruz: It’s Not A Infrastructure Bill, It’s A Massive Tax Increase To Hammer Small Businesses

On Fox Across America with Jimmy Failla, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) explains why the Biden infrastructure bill will do more damage to small businesses that have already suffered during the pandemic, and criticizes those who think children should not return to school five days a week.

“They want to call it infrastructure because infrastructure is popular. People like roads and bridges, except a very small percentage of this is actually roads and bridges. And what this bill really is, is a massive tax increase. It’s a tax increase designed to hammer small businesses. I got to be honest, I don’t understand the thinking of today’s hard left Democrats. We’ve just come through a year from hell. We’ve come through a pandemic that really set this country back. And the shutdowns that were mandated have destroyed millions of small businesses. There are millions of businesses that are just now opening up. They’re barely hanging on. And Joe Biden comes along and says what we need to do for these businesses that are right on the edge between surviving or going bankrupt is let’s jack their taxes up dramatically, that doesn’t make any sense to me. And yet it’s where today’s Democratic Party is.”

“Joe Biden has zero interest in getting the tens of millions of American kids who are not in school today back in school. Today, nationally, there are only 40% of school kids in America that are in in-person school five days a week. And the problem is the Democrats, Biden and Kamala and Schumer and Pelosi, are captive to the teacher union bosses. And so even though CDC, you know the Democrats love to say follow the science, CDC says kids should be in school. That’s the safest place for them to be. But the teachers union bosses don’t want that. And so Democrats are perfectly willing to leave kids not going to school falling farther behind. It’s an absolute outrage.”
