Ben Domenech: Sen. Cruz’s Making A Cancun Joke At CPAC Was “The Right Choice”

On Fox Across America with Jimmy Failla, Fox News Contributor Ben Domenech addresses the controversy over Sen. Ted Cruz making light of his trip to Cancun while Texas was in the midst of a winter storm that left many without power or water.

“I think that Ted Cruz has certainly leaned into this situation in a way that politicians didn’t used to. They used to kind of run away from these problems and try to avoid media coverage. But now the thing to do is to kind of just to own it and to lean into it. And frankly, I think that’s clearly the right choice for him to make. It’s much more in keeping with his personal style. I think that’s something that is being used these days by a lot of politicians who have learned it more recently from President Trump, that he was never one to shy away from a fight or pretend that something didn’t matter, he would lean into it. And that’s something that I think is now kind of a take away, regardless of your opinion of the President or his politics. It’s just kind of a media strategy that has been proven to work.”
