Brit Hume: Trump’s On A “Glide Path” To Acquittal

On today’s Guy Benson Show, Brit Hume, Senior political analyst for Fox News Channel spoke about Trump’s second impeachment trial and the GOP’s future.

Brit Hume said,

“He’s on a glide path to acquittal on the charge that they brought against him. If you’re dealing with a jury that believes that the whole thing is an unconstitutional farce, which, you know, it may be.”

Hume also said,

“What the Republican Party has had to worry about since the election has been this question, can the party win with him? And it looks like it probably can’t now and cannot win without him. That is to say, if either he’s a candidate or his supporters are willing to back the party and it looks like they can’t win with him, it looks like they might be getting into a situation where they can’t win with him and can’t win without him. Now, the preferred outcome for the Republican Party would be for someone to emerge capable of absorbing much of the Trump agenda without being Trump over there being a different and more widely appealing candidate who doesn’t have the negatives that Trump has, who is probably the highest negatives I’ve ever seen, who could rescue the party from this current predicament.”
