Ari Fleischer: Impeachment Is “Tantamount To Interference In The 2024 Election”
On Fox Across America with Jimmy Failla, former White House Press Secretary Ari Fleischer explains while he’s not defending the actions of President Trump on January 6th, impeaching the President is more about stopping him from running in 2024.
“I am not going to defend Donald Trump anymore. Based on based on him stirring the pot that helped create the riot, I’m not going to defend him. You’re raising a different point about healing. And I think it is perfectly reasonable that there are two different takes on it. And one is people on the left want be able to send a signal what Trump did is wrong and there’s no acceptance for it. Obviously, the punishment is not to remove the office, the punishment is to bar him from ever running again. I can understand that sentiment. On the other hand, not defending Donald Trump, but there is a higher principle that I adhere to, and that is this is tantamount to interference in the 2024 election. And the only people should have a say in whether or not anybody, whether it’s Donald Trump, Kamala Harris or Mickey Mouse, can run in 2024 should be the people. I’m a big believer in the sovereignty of the people. And the best way to deal with the Trump era is leave it up to the people. That’s how you handle these things.”
