Katie Pavlich On Media’s Normalization Of Violent Riots
Katie Pavlich, Editor for Townhall.com & Fox News Contributor spoke with Fox News Radio’s Guy Benson about the recent ambush on sheriff’s deputies in CA and shooting in PA that sparked violent protests. Katie and Guy discussed the media’s normalization of violent riots. Katie said,
“Yeah, it’s a really serious problem and it begs the question of how much responsibility the media has in kind of stoking the flames of disinformation when it comes to what’s really happening here. And I always say just as regular life doesn’t happen anywhere. And when the president talks about how this can come to a town near you where we’re seeing that happen, you had the sheriff in Kenosha, one of the lines that stood out to me when he gave that press conference a couple of weeks ago. He said we’re not used to riots in Kenosha. And that’s exactly the point, is this can blow up anywhere at any moment based on a justified police shootings because things have been heated up and gasoline has been poured on these issues by the media for months now. They haven’t been telling the truth about what’s going on. They’ve downplayed the intentions of the Black Lives Matter movement, and they’ve ignored statements by Black Lives Matter leaders like Hawks Newsome, who went on Fox News with Martha MacCallum and said, if we don’t get what we want, we’ll burn the country down. Well, we’re seeing that happen. And there’s still this refusal to acknowledge the connection here. And this is not a new thing. I mean, Black Lives Matter ink. You don’t have to be for Black Lives Matter, Inc. to be for racial equality. There’s a huge distinction between the two. Right. And Black Lives Matter ink has been around for years. They’ve been really organized since 2014, 2015, in 2014 when Michael Brown was shot and killed. The narrative was perpetuated by the media that this was a man who had his hands up. Don’t shoot. Well, that ends up being completely false.”
