Juan Williams, FNC Political Analyst & Co-Host of the Five spoke with Fox News Radio's Guy Benson about the importance of the Juneteenth holiday. William said,

"I think lots of people kind of have heard about it, maybe read something somewhere that it was Juneteenth, but they don't really know. The roots and the roots are quite fascinating in that this is the day originally called Jubilee Day. But then because it's June 19th, they got kind of, you know, slurred into Juneteenth. This is a day when two thousand union troops finally arrived in Galveston Island, Texas, and announced to the slaves that they were free. That, you know, President Lincoln's proclamation, which had been issued two years earlier, was finally in force in the state of Texas."
