Gianno Caldwell: Take Down Confederate Statues But Keep Them In Museums
On Fox Across America With Jimmy Failla, Fox News Contributor Gianno Caldwell discussed the importance of Juneteenth and why Confederate monuments should be saved in museums but not in the public square.
“If people are taking down statues illegally, they should go to jail Even Confederate statues, they should go to jail because there’s a proper way of doing it. We have a government in these particular localities where you can petition and pressure them and them take down. I am for the taking down of these statues all throughout the country. But what I am not for is taking them out of museums because I think the history has relevancy and there’s something that we absolutely should remember. People may not even this, but the history of some of these statues, they were erected to remind people, African-Americans specifically, not simply the history of how far we’ve come, but to remind them they were still under control.”
