On FOX Across America with Jimmy Failla, former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich explained why he thinks Rep. Nancy Pelosi and Sen. Chuck Schumer are trying to make the Republicans in Congress cave to their demands through "straight blackmail."

"They're blackmailing the American people. We had a clear effort by Senator McConnell, who put together five bipartisan working groups, they came up with a bill. Democrats won every single one of the working groups and then when they put the bill together, the Democratic leader Chuck Schumer and the Democratic speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi, stepped in at the last minute. And they didn't step in and say we need these three things. They stepped in and just said, we're going to stop everything until we get what we want, I will tell you what we want as soon as we figure it out. And Pelosi said she's going to introduce a new bill. Now the Democrats aren't back in the House. So the Senate's been working for a week to how the Democrats in the House have been gone. And it's just straight blackmail. It's an effort to force the President and Senator McConnell and the Republican leader in the House Kevin McCarthy, to cave in and give the Democrats anything they want."
