Member of President George W. Bush’s Senior Staff Brad Blakeman Remembers His Fallen Nephew On The 18th Anniversary of 9/11

Bradley Blakeman was the only senior White House staff member on Sept. 11, 2001, who lost a family member in the attacks. His nephew, former Army medic Thomas Jurgens, was a New York court officer who commandeered a jury van from the courthouse, filled it with first aid supplies and drove it to the Twin Towers after the first plane hit. Jurgens’ body was never recovered. Jurgens is one of the 498 first responders who died that day. Blakeman remembers his heroic nephew.
