U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley is resigning.
FOX’s Jon Decker reports from the White House:
It was a surprise to her staff and to her fellow diplomats at the United Nations. But the President said Nikki Haley’s resignation as U.S. Ambassador to the U.N., was not a surprise to him.
(President Trump): “And she told me probably six months ago she said you know maybe at the end of the year the end of a two year period that the end of the year, I want to take a little time off, a little break.”
Haley said she’ll leave her post at the end of the year and will support the President’s re-election in 2020. The President said he will likely nominate a replacement for Haley in the next two or three weeks.
