It turns out, there could be something to the name: Fortune cookie.

FOX’s Jim MacKay explains:

Ronnie Martin lives in Pennsylvania and commutes to New Jersey. Back in late July, he bought some lottery tickets on his commute home… the night of the $543 million Mega Millions Jackpot.

He didn’t get the quick pick or name off some birthdays, instead, he used the lucky numbers from a fortune cookie. A slip of paper he just happened to have in his wallet after going out to eat.

The next day he scanned his tickets, he found out he had struck gold with one of the $1 million prizes. He’s now just deciding to go public with his story. Ronnie said him and his wife are paying off their house, some bills and the rest of the money is going into their savings.
