The Democrats’ “Grand Old Man” is giving his compatriots advice on beating the “Grand Ol’ Party” in November.

Former President Jimmy Carter is cautioning Democrats their path to defeating President Trump and the Republicans depends on independents and moderates.
The former president insists moderates “need to know they can invest their vote in the Democratic party” in the November midterms and the 2020 presidential election.
Carter acknowledges he supported Democratic socialist Bernie Sanders over establishment favorite Hillary Clinton for the 2016 Democratic presidential nomination.
But Carter adds too “liberal a program” can scare many voters.
