Facebook Lite adds more crisis response tools to help with disaster recovery efforts.

FOX’s Krystin Goodwin explains:

Ahead of Hurricane Florence making landfall, Facebook is rolling out its community help tool to Facebook Lite, a mobile app helping folks with limited internet access log on to the social network.

Community help evolved out of safety check, which allows users to mark themselves as “safe” after a disaster. Facebook Lite bringing the service to users in over 100 countries, giving more folks in need the ability to find essentials like shelter, food and transportation.

Facebook’s crisis response product manager saying in a statement, “Our priority is to build tools that provide people with ways to get the help they need to recover and rebuild after a crisis.”
