A national fabric and craft chain is reaching out to customers to oppose tariffs.
Details from FOX’s Hilarie Barsky:
Jo-Ann, the crafting and art supply retailer, has created an online petition asking customers to support the company’s efforts to receive exemptions for tariffs on products imported from China.
Since Monday, more than 20,000 people have signed the petition. A spokesperson for the retailer says that 25 percent tariffs target hundreds of imported products from China, with the biggest “hit” on fabrics, fleece and yarn.
Jo-Ann has 900 shops in 49 states. And about 20 percent of its customers are small businesses and charitable organizations that buy material from the company to create handmade products for sale.
