EPA Plans to Repeal Clean Power Plan

The Trump administration calls it the end of the war on coal, but environmental groups say departing from a key climate change initiative is dangerous.

FOX’s Jared Halpern has more from Washington:

The Trump administration has signaled intent to withdraw from the Clean Power Plan, an Obama-era regulation limiting carbon emissions from coal-fired power plants:

(Pruitt) “It was wrong for the last administration to declare a war on coal and its right for this administration to say that the war is over.”

EPA chief Scott Pruitt making that announcement in eastern Kentucky. Pruitt previously served as Oklahoma’s attorney general and joined a lawsuit challenging the carbon limits.

The Supreme Court put the plan on hold last year.
