Bar Owner’s Donation to Former KKK Leader Sparks Uproar, Leads to Closing of Bar

A Minneapolis bar shuts down amid uproar over a donation to white supremacist and former KKK leader David Duke.

    FOX’s Jeff Monosso reports:

It’s been a popular hot spot in Minneapolis’ north loop, but Club Jager is no longer after a local paper revealed the club’s owner Julius De Roma contributed $500 to white nationalist David Duke and his failed bid in 2016 for a U.S. Senate seat in Louisiana.

Several employees quit, some regular performers canceled gigs:

(Woman) “It’s just like a really loving community and so I think this news was shocking to a lot of them.”

Managers closed the bar Thursday while De Roma insists that his donation was “basically free speech” and that the controversy had been blown up beyond what it should be.
