Relief Funding Coming for Harvey Victims

Congress is expected to approve an aid package for Hurricane Harvey’s aftermath as soon as next week.

FOX’s Jared Halpern has more from Washington:

The Trump administration is preparing an initial aid package of nearly $6 billion for Harvey relief, down payment expected to be a small portion of what will ultimately be needed:

(President Trump) “We’re working on emergency funding. We’re doing everything we can and we’re working very well with the Governor. He’s done a terrific job”.

President Trump has promised Congress will approve disaster funding quickly.

House Speaker Paul Ryan says lawmakers will replenish a federal disaster relief fund, but full assistance will come in installments, telling a Wisconsin radio station it won’t be fully known what is needed for some time.
