FEMA Warns Harvey Victims about Scammers
FEMA is sounding the alarm about hurricane scammers.
FOX’s Rachel Sutherland reports from Washington:
People impersonating ICE agents have been knocking on doors around Houston, telling people to evacuate, only to rob their homes. There has also been a series of robocalls, telling flood victims they had to make an additional insurance payment, or their policy would be canceled:
(Wright) “That is pure fraud. You should only be taking information from trusted sources.”
Roy Wright with FEMA’s national flood insurance program says people should only talk to their insurance agents and local officials.
