President Trump: U.S. Troops “Will Fight to Win” in Afghanistan

President Trump, who campaigned against the war in Afghanistan, now says the U.S. will not withdraw. But he is making some strategy changes.

FOX’s Rachel Sutherland reports from Washington:

The President said U.S. troops will “fight to win” American longest war, but he would not give details:

(President Trump) “We will not talk about numbers of troops or our plans for further military activities.”

Saying “enemies must never know our plans or believe they can wait us out.”

Republican Senator John McCain says he commend President Trump for taking a big step in the right direction with the new strategy for Afghanistan, but House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi says the President is “declaring an open-ended commitment of American lives with no accountability to the American people.”
