Earning Your Stripes as an Opening Act

FOX’s Ashley Dvorkin talks to some of country’s hottest new stars about what they learned from the headliners when they paid dues as the opening acts.

That’s in today’s “FOX Celebrity Profile”:

When country stars are just starting out they begin as opening acts on the road, taking notes along the way.

Craig Campbell thanks Luke Bryan:

(Campbell) “Being Luke Bryan’s piano player, I learned a great deal on how to entertain and how to treat your audience and how to treat your fans.”

RaeLynn says that Blake Shelton taught her a lot about how to be even off stage:

(RaeLynn) “I’ve known Blake since I was 17 and to see him to do such a great amount of success and just stay that sweet nice person, it’s just amazing.”

A couple of Dierks Bentley’s tour-mates Cam and Eli Young Band spoke about how grateful they are to him:

(Cam) “Dierks was amazing. He spent time talking to me. He spent time encouraging me. He’d bring myself and Randy out for a song during his set.”

(Eli Young Band) “He’s been a really good friend for us.”

Eli Young Band also opened for Dave Matthews, who would watch them take the stage:

(Eli Young Band) “I’ve never seen that. That kind of dedication.”
