Dr. David Shulkin: What We Are Seeing Now Is Painful But Necessary To Bring This Country Together
Dr. David Shulkin, The Secretary of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, joined Dagen McDowell on the Brian Kilmeade Show to talk about The Veterans Educational Assistance Act. “We have gotten major pieces of legislation through in the past couple of months, and yesterday the President signed the GI Forever Law. It extends the benefits for post 911 veterans allowing them to use their GI benefits at any point in their life and now can pass those benefits down to their children if they’re killed during duty.” Regarding the events that took place in Charlottesville, Secretary Shulkin said, “We are hearing a clear and resounding voice across the country for unity and denouncement of hate and violence.” Mr. Shulkin went on to say that “I have every confidence that we are headed in the right direction, and I have confidence in the President and his leadership to bring us in the right direction.”
