Amazon Issuing Refunds for Fake Solar Eclipse Sunglasses
An online retail giant is recalling some timely eye wear.
FOX’s Anna Eliopoulos explains:
Country star Jason Aldean sang about it, and next week thousands are going to do it…
However, online retailer Amazon is issuing refunds for phony glasses, just a week before the total solar eclipse. The e-commerce giant says some glasses they sold may not have come from a recommended manufacturer.
And in an email sent to buyers of the fake shades, Amazon strongly advised its customers to not use the product to view the natural phenomenon. Specialists have been warning that the huge demand for eclipse glasses has caused knockoffs to flood the market.
Special ultra-dark sunglasses are required to prevent eye damage from the sun’s rays.
