A Broadway legend has passed.

FOX's Jacquelyn Karl reports:

Broadway singing legend Barbara Cook has died. Cook was best known for three Broadway roles Cundegonde in Leonard Bernstine's "Candide" in 1956...

Librarian Marian in "The Music Man" in 1957...

And Amalia Balash in "She Loves Me" in 1963....

Cook died early Tuesday of respiratory failure at her home in Manhattan surrounded by family and friends. Her last meal: Vanilla ice cream in tribute to one of her most famous roles in "She Loves Me."

Cook was 89.
