From Elvis and Andy to the New York Stage

Yvonne Adrian danced with Elvis on the big screen. She played Darlene Swanson on “The Andy Griffith Show.” The mother and grandmother is also an award-winning playwright. With lyricist and Broadway veteran Cheryl Stern and Stern’s Emmy-winning composer-husband Tom Kochan, the trio took home the Jonathan Larson Award for their musical “Pretty to the Bone.” It’s a dark comedy about a serious subject. Adrian’s daughter battled anorexia and writing about the family’s struggle with the eating disorder proved therapeutic.

FOX’s Jane Metzler talks with Yvonne Adrian, Cheryl Stern, Tom Kochan and with 14-year-old actress Myea Peterson. She plays Adrian’s daughter in the upcoming “Broadway for All” production of “Pretty to the Bone.”
