One Step Closer to Confirmation for President Trump’s FBI Director Pick

President Trump’s pick to lead the FBI is a step closer to winning confirmation.

FOX’s Jared Halpern has more from Capitol Hill:

The Senate Judiciary Committee unanimously signed off on Christopher Wray to serve as the next FBI director:

(Senate Judiciary Committee) “Mr. Chairman, the votes are 20 yays, no nays.”

That sets up a final confirmation vote on the Senate floor. Wray received bipartisan praise at a confirmation hearing last week, vowing independence from the White House.

If confirmed, Wray would replace James Comey, who was abruptly fired by President Trump in May.
