Disgraced former U.S. House Speaker Dennis Hastert is released from prison after serving most of his sentence on bank fraud charges.

FOX's Jeff Monosso reports from Chicago:

The Rochester Minnesota Federal Medical Center where Dennis Hastert was being held tells FOX News that he was released Monday and now on home confinement here in Illinois.

He was sentenced to 15-months in prison last year in a bank fraud case that revealed accusations the former Illinois congressman was paying hush money to cover-up sexual abuse of teenagers stemming from Hastert's time as a wrestling coach in suburban Chicago.

Hastert was never charged with child abuse because the statute of limitations had already passed.
