Some of Broadway’s top stars supporting a charity that gives the gift of music to people with dementia.

FOX’s Jane Metzler explains in this “FOX on Stage”:

The Broadway community getting behind a non-profit organization called music and memory:

(Mueller) “Music that ties us to precious moments is powerful, especially for people isolated by Alzheimer’s and other dementia.”

Jesse Mueller won the Tony playing Carole King in ‘Beautiful.’ King, supports music and memory too. The charity provides iPods to patients in nursing homes, helping their caregivers put together personalized playlists found to calm anxiety and trigger memories:

(Mueller) “Favorite songs can reconnect these people to family and friends and the world around them.”

And says Tony winner Annaleigh Ashford:

(Ashford) “A personalized playlist can ease pain and make life meaningful again.”

(Lauper) “Please, please, help people with Alzheimer’s and dementia show their true colors.”
