An Original Copy of the Declaration of Independence On Display in Boston Museum

It’s the first copy of the Declaration of Independence that publicly identifies all the signers and it’s on display at Boston’s Commonwealth Museum this independence day.

    FOX’s Heather Curtis reports:

The Commonwealth Museum’s displaying the Mary Catherine Goddard Broadside copy of the Declaration of Independence. It’s the first copy of the Declaration of Independence:

(Comeau) “Mary Catherine Goddard was a printer in Baltimore In 1777.”

Museum director Michael Comeau says it can be on display thanks to special cases recently built by MIT:

(Comeau) “They allow for regular citizens like you and I to better understand and appreciate and come close to the real stuff of history.”

The cases will allow this historic document to stay on permanent display at the museum.
