It's the first copy of the Declaration of Independence that publicly identifies all the signers and it's on display at Boston's Commonwealth Museum this independence day.
FOX's Heather Curtis reports:
The Commonwealth Museum's displaying the Mary Catherine Goddard Broadside copy of the Declaration of Independence. It's the first copy of the Declaration of Independence:
(Comeau) "Mary Catherine Goddard was a printer in Baltimore In 1777."
Museum director Michael Comeau says it can be on display thanks to special cases recently built by MIT:
(Comeau) "They allow for regular citizens like you and I to better understand and appreciate and come close to the real stuff of history."
The cases will allow this historic document to stay on permanent display at the museum.
