Tennis legend John McEnroe under fire for common made about a women's tennis superstar.

FOX's Matt Napolitano reports:

John McEnroe telling NPR that Serena Williams is the best female tennis player the world has ever seen, but when pressed as to why Serena is being categorized to just the best women's player, McEnroe had this to say:

(McEnroe) "Well because if she played the men's circuit, she'd be like 700 in the world."

Some calling McEnroe's comment about Serena Williams misogynistic. Neither side yet to comment on this interview.

McEnroe has won seven grand slam singles titles throughout his career. Williams has won 23.
