Senate Republicans Release Health Care Plan

A long-awaited plan from Senate Republicans to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act is out.

FOX’s Jared Halpern has more from Capitol Hill:

The 142 page proposal from Senate Republicans shares key similarities to the House health care bill that was narrowly approved.

The Senate plan shared for the first time with most Senate Republicans this morning, aims to gradually roll back Medicaid expansion, scrap taxes associated with the Affordable Care Act and give states more flexibility to regulate insurance requirements.

Democrats and some Republicans have been critical of the process, accusing GOP leaders of writing a bill in secret.

There is little room for error, without any support from Democrats, Republicans can lose no more than two of their own to pass the bill.
