Uber’s Latest Addition to Their App

Uber drivers rejoice! You can soon receive tips through the app.

    FOX’s Jessica Rosenthal reports:

Uber announced it’s adding a tipping option to the app, it’s already out in Houston Seattle and Minneapolis. It’ll roll out to all markets by the end of July.

This kind of option already existed for their main competitor Lyft. In an email to its drivers Uber says this is part of 180 days of change. And that change includes some other driver friendly accommodations, like a fee for waiting longer than two minutes instead of five. Changes were expected.

Uber’s CEO Travis Kalanick has taken an indefinite leave of absence after a law firm made several recommendations to fix Uber’s work environment. That happened after Kalancik was seen on tape yelling at one of his drivers and a now former female employee complained of sexual harassment and discrimination.
