The Warriors got the chance to celebrate their NBA title Thursday.
FOX's Matt Napolitano with the story:
Warriors players twirled t-shirts over their heads and waved to the crowds atop double-decker buses as they made their way through the streets of Oakland.
Golden State winning their fifth NBA title in franchise history Monday night with a Game 5 win over the Cavaliers, getting redemption for last year's championship loss.
Warriors guard Steph Curry addressed the crowd at a rally at the Henry J. Kaiser Convention Center:
(Curry) "Everything that we went through as a team, individually, as an organization makes this day so much sweeter."
It was also a crowning moment for Finals MVP Kevin Durant, who earned his first career NBA championship:
(Durant) "It means the world to me to win the championship for you guys and hopefully we keep it going, but we're going to enjoy this one."
Over one million people took over the parade route in Oakland, some seeing the parade as bittersweet since the team will move to a new arena in San Francisco in 2019.
