U.S. Supreme Court Justice Neil Gorsuch has issued his first opinion since joining the high court.

FOX's Rachel Sutherland reports from Washington:

In a nine-to-zero ruling, the Supreme Court said the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act does not cover third-party debt collectors, companies that buy debt and then work to get it back. The Justices upheld the dismissal of a class-action against Santander Consumer USA Holdings, Incorporated, that case was the first authored by new Justice Neil Gorsuch.

In an 8-to-zero ruling, the Supreme Court sided with Microsoft in a class action over its X-Box 360 console. Consumers claimed the console scratches discs. The Justices said the consumers didn't have the right to appeal a lower court ruling in the case.
