FOX Goes All-American on World Cup Broadcasting Crew

Is soccer finally making it in America?

FOX’s Chris Hoenig reports:

FOX announcing they will go with an all-American broadcast team for its lead crew at next year’s World Cup.

John Strong will call play-by-play alongside analysts Landon Donovan and Stuart Holden, both former national team players. The three will be together for Thursday night’s qualifier against Trinidad and Tobago on FOX Sports 1.

Strong and Holden will also call Sunday’s qualifier at Mexico and this summer’s Confederations Cup in Russia, while Donovan awaits the birth of his child.

This will be FOX’s first World Cup, taking over for ESPN, who relied on a trio of British play-by-play voices for past tournaments.
