McConnell: “We’re Getting Closer to Having a Proposal” on Health Care

    Senate Republicans are working on reaching a health care deal, but there’s still no proposal or vote scheduled.

    Senate Republicans are offering a variety of assessments when pressed on the likelihood a plan to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act can win 51 votes, following a conference-wide lunch meeting with Vice President Pence GOP leader Mitch McConnell insisted:

    (McConnell) “We’re getting closer to having a proposal that we’ll be bringing up in the near future.”

    It’s been more than a month since House Republicans narrowly passed the American Health Care Act, but from that point Republican Senators have suggested what emerges in their chamber…is likely to look different.
