Spicer on Kushner Back-Channel: “Not Substantiated by Anything but Anonymous Sources”

In the first White House briefing, since President Trump’s first trip overseas, his spokesman stops short, of directly denying allegations, about the President’s son-in-law.

FOX’s Jared Halpern reports from the White House:

A lot of questions, but few answers from White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer, about reports the President’s son-in-law and advisor Jared Kushner, tried to establish a back-channel with Russian officials late last year:

(Spicer) “At your question assumes is a lot of facts that are not substantiated by anything but anonymous sources that are so far being leaked out.”

Still, Spicer did reiterate remarks from Homeland Security Secretary John Kelly and national security adviser H.R. McMaster, who both described back-channels in general terms as appropriate diplomatic tools.
