When it comes to dating, is it better to think like a Princess or a Queen?

    FOX's Ashley Papa reports:

As young girls, we learn to idolize princesses: Cinderella, Snow White to name a few. But having this princess mentality as we age can cause problems in one's dating life.

Relationship expert and author of 'Single But Dating', Nikki Goldstein, says it's better to have a queen mentality when dating:

(Goldstein) "The princess mentality is really telling women that you're there to be chosen and possibly even controlled whereas I feel like the queen mentality is strengthening women's voices and saying you can be the boss and you can stand up for what you believe in."

The princess mentality can subconsciously force you to seek validation from others. Goldstein says when you think like a queen, you have a greater chance of finding your ideal partner:

(Goldstein) "It's important for women to not be so strong that they're not able to be vulnerable, but they need to be able to be in charge of their own lives and own destiny and also be in a position in a relationship where they're able to stand up for what they want."

In the end, wouldn't you want to be with a king than a prince anyway?
