Democrats & Republicans Spar over New Budget Report on Health Care
Both sides are dissecting the Congressional Budget Office score on the GOP plan to replace ObamaCare.
FOX’s Jared Halpern has more from Capitol Hill:
House Democratic leader Nancy Pelosi is pointing to that new CBO Congressional Budget Office analysis to level criticism of the House-passed American Health Care Act:
(Pelosi) “TrumpCare means higher cost, 23 million hard working Americans losing coverage, key protections gutted.”
The CBO score does estimate 23 million more Americans without insurance, compared to the current law in 10 years. House Speaker Paul Ryan says there more to that figure:
(Ryan) “If the government is going to stop forcing people to buy something they don’t want to buy, then they won’t buy it.”
Ryan also pushing back on the CBO’s assessment health care costs will go up for people with pre-existing conditions.
