Dale Jr’s Last NASCAR All-Star Race
NASCAR’s best hit the track this weekend to battle for big bucks.
FOX’s Matt Napolitano has more with “FOX in the Fast Lane”:
It’s All-Star weekend as the NASCAR Monster Energy Cup series goes back under the lights for one hot night.
The drivers will hit the pavement at Charlotte Motor Speedway for the annual All-Star race. The first under the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series banner and the last one for Dale Earnhardt Jr, as he reminisced on his rookie All-Star win on his ‘Dirty Mo Radio Show’:
(Earnhardt Jr.) “That was a incredible day. We just won the Texas race and the Richmond race a couple weeks before, so we really were just amazed to be in the race, we didn’t think we were going to win it.”
This year’s All-Star race will feature four stages: Three 20 lap stages and one final 10-lap 10-car round to crown a champ. Winner of that stage wins $1 million.
Meanwhile, there will be a new driver behind the wheel of the No. 43 Ford at Charlotte. Regan Smith will sit in for Aric Almirola as he recovers from a compression fracture of his vertebra that he suffered in a wreck that last week at Kansas. Almirola out indefinitely.
