Shark Attack in Hawaii Leaves French Tourist Without Part of His Leg

A surfer from France is recovering after being attacked by a shark in Hawaii.

    FOX’s Dave Anthony reports:

He’s already making plans to one day compete in the Paralympics. A French surfer, who’s right leg had to be amputated below the knee in Hawaii after a tiger shark bit him on Friday:

(Man) “His leg was completely mauled, it was crazy.”

Mac Pigott was on a Kauai Beach when the shark attacked:

(Man) “Oh it was huge and gray. So the tail was facing and his head was at the guy.”

    And he watched in horror:

(Man) “It was just splashing him around.”

Bystanders helped pull the surfer out of the water, even applying a leash as a tourniquet until paramedics arrived.
