The IRS is getting out of the debt collection business.

FOX's Rachel Sutherland reports from Washington:

The agency will once again use private debt collectors to go after people who owe taxes. The change is in compliance with a law passed by Congress in 2015, requiring the IRS stop trying to collect its own debt.

The IRS will start turning over accounts of delinquent tax payers this summer, and those affected are being notified. Meanwhile, "The Washington Post" reports the Trump administration is looking at including a value-added tax and a carbon tax as part of its planned tax overhaul.
