D.C. Restaurant Owners Suing President Trump
President Trump is being sued by two restaurant owners near his D.C. hotel.
FOX’s Lisa Brady reports:
The lawsuit, filed in D.C. superior court says there’s no way to compete against the restaurant in President Trump’s international hotel, less than two miles away.
Khalid Pitts and Diane Gross, owners of Cork Wine Bar and Cork Market & Tasting Room aren’t seeking monetary damages. Instead they say the President should resign, close the hotel, or divest himself from it while he’s in office to remedy the violation of local law against unfair competition. They also insist politics has nothing to do with it.
The lead attorney for the Trump organization calls the lawsuit a wild publicity stunt, completely lacking in legal merit. The President retains ownership of his businesses, but passed management on to his two adult sons and a senior executive.
