White House Demands Investigation into President Trump’s Wiretapping Allegation

The White House is demanding an investigation into the President’s allegation that former President Obama wiretapped phones at Trump Tower.

FOX’s Rachel Sutherland reports from Washington:

Former CIA Director Leon Panetta told CBS “Face the Nation” President Trump is trying to pivot the Russia story:

(Panetta) “He’s trying to divert attention. He’s trying to obfuscate, trying to cover up.”

House Oversight Committee Republican Chair Jason Chaffetz is taking the President’s claim seriously:

(Chaffetz) “This stuff does happen and it’s not necessarily done the legal lawful way.”

The “New York Times” reports FBI Director James Comey wants the Justice Department to issue a rebuttal of President Trump’s accusation.
