Nine films are up for Best Picture at this year's Academy Awards.

FOX's Ashley Dvorkin has the scoop on the nominees vying for this prestigious award:

Among the nominees for the coveted top category of 'Best Picture' at this year's Oscars are...

The Denzel Washington directed stage to screen adaptation 'Fences'. Both Denzel and his co-star Viola Davis are front-runners in individual acting categories for their performances.

The Mel Gibson directed World War II epic 'Hacksaw Ridge' with Andrew Garfield as the first conscientious objector to be awarded the Medal of Honor.

The modern day western 'Hell or High Water' starring Jeff Bridges is also up for the big award. The film follows two Texas marshals tracking a couple of small town bank robbers.

Plus the inspirational based on real life story 'Hidden Figures' led by Taraji P. Henson, Octavia Spencer, and Janelle Monae about a team of African-American woman at NASA in the 1960's who helped send John Glenn into orbit.
