New Immigration Plan Won’t be a Mass Deportation

The White House says new immigration guidelines are not about mass deportations, but immigrant advocates are worried.

FOX’s Rachel Sutherland reports from Washington:

Children brought here by their parents will be protected, but everyone else here illegally is subject to immigration proceedings under the new guidelines.

White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer says criminals will be the first to go:

(Spicer) ”Prioritizing the people who are here who represent a threat to public safety or have a criminal record.”

The government will hire thousands of new immigration officers and local law enforcement officials will be authorized to act as immigration officers. The guidelines also calls for money to be allocated to build a southern border wall.
