The new EPA chief is calling on the agency to strike a balance between the environment and the economy.
FOX's Jared Halpern has more from Capitol Hill:
Less than a week after a close confirmation vote, Environmental Protection Agency chief Scott Pruitt has a mission statement for the agency's employees:
(Pruitt) "I believe that we as an agency and we as a nation can be both pro-energy and jobs and pro-environment. That we don't have to choose between the two."
Before President Trump nominated Pruitt to lead the EPA, the then-Oklahoma Attorney General filed more than a dozen lawsuits challenging environmental regulations, including limits on carbon emissions and rules associated with the Clean Water Act.
