President Trump Holds Wide-Range Extended News Conference – Blasts Media, Says He “Inherited a Mess”
President Trump held an extended news conference in which he discussed the “out of control” media, Russia, signing a new travel ban executive order and more.
Listen to our live coverage of President Trump’s news conference:
In a hastily called news conference that lasted close to 90 minutes, President Trump insisted that he asked Michael Flynn, his now former national security advisor, to resign because of Flynn’s misleading statements to Vice President Mike Pence. But he said that the leaks from the intelligence community were what most upset him:
(President Trump) “What was wrong was the way that other people, including yourselves in this room, were given that information.”
The President denied that he told Flynn to discuss sanctions with a Russian official and said he has no knowledge of any members of his campaign staff talking to Russians prior to the election.
The President spent much of the press conference berating what he called fake news.
